Indian head massage has been around for thousands of years and you can see why it is so popular when you have a treatment. It is really powerful how Indian head massage just relaxes you so deeply without needing to get undressed or covered in oils.
Indian Head Massage is right for you if:
- You are very stressed
- You don’t like oily massage

- You are pregnant (only in 2nd or 3rd trimester)

What can you expect?
An Indian head massage therapist will either sit you on a couch or ask you to lie face down on the massage couch.
You won’t need to take any clothes off though you may want to loosen your collar.
Your therapist will press pressure points on the top of the back, along the shoulders and up the neck.
They will push and press on the scalp and use the hair (if you have hair) to stimulate the scalp.
They may use oil on the hair, this is a personal preference and your therapist will ask you if you would like this to be included in your treatment. It is not compulsory.
You likely to feel deeply relaxed during and after the treatment.
It is likely you will feel like a lot of tension has left your body.
You should be experiencing a great sense of well-being.
You may have a slight headache afterwards, this is quite normal and normally down to the toxins that have been released during the treatment.
You may experience an increase in emotions after an Indian Head Massage, this too is perfectly normal and is all part of the releasing process.
You will be advised to drink a glass of water afterwards and it is normally suggested that you rest for the rest of the day, ensuring you drink plenty of water to flush out the system.
Your pee may be a slightly darker in colour than normal for up to 24 hours, this too is normal and is a sign of the body flushing out toxins from the body.
